I have hit my 52 layout target - yeh!

Yes I have officially reached the target number of layouts I set myself for the whole year and I am very pleased with myself. Think I may have to double it or even quadruple it as we are only a quarter way through the year.

I love this layout - even if it is a bit of a copy of one I did earlier! I had cut up all the squares from the Love Elsie Roxie paper at the crop yesterday and so had to use them before I lost them. I put the other layout in Eleanor's album and this one was for Liam so butched it up a bit by using black Bazzill cardstock and using a photo that he had changed to B & W - leaving a bit of colour on Jess's scarf and Eleanor's bag. I actually think I prefer this one! I doodled around the edge of the layout and squares with a white Signo uni pen - its true the more you doodle the more confident you become. I am not good at it at all but I am loosing the fear of drawing straight onto the layout.

First layouts for Shimelle's No Place Like Home project.

Only 2 weeks into the class before I manage to do any work for it! These are actually quite dull layouts - so I am not particularly pleased with them - but at least I have made a start. There is so much in the photos and the journalling I did not want to use PP all over - so did some free hand journalling on to the plain card stock to jazz it up a  bit. Its a bit plain in just white though - would have like to have 
added some colour - but am still waiting for the 
medium Galaxy marker pens to come back in stock on QVC. 
These apparently work very well on dark card. 
My Sharpie pens don't - I have tried!

The journalling is from the prompts that she gave us and introduces our home-town and home and I have also included a definition of home on the second big house. This DLO shows our house and Cal-de-sac and the view from our windows. I made the little and big houses from my Cricut - see it is starting to be used now

The next project is to make a mini book featuring doors. I have never made a mini book and don't have a BIA - but do have a cropodile and book rings so that is no excuse - but think I may use a 8x8" album I have lying about

I love this jazzy layout

Wow a real jazzy layout and I love it! I took the photo to the crop but had no idea what to do with it. So had a rummage around my stuff and found these love Elsie Roxie papers and just went to town. It was quite quick and easy really. I just cut the squares out of the quilted paper and drew around them with a black pen - it does not show up very well on here but does look better IRL. I did not have much room left to say much about the occasion this photo was taken - 
so just wrote 'a rare photo opportunity' .

The photo was taken in the Halifax building society in Sheffield. We had gone to watch Jess swim at Ponds Forge there and Eleanor came up on the train as well so we had 3 out of 4 children together and Liam actually obliged and joined in the photo op as well - so perhaps I should have made a bit more fuss about the journalling as it was a very rare occasion!

Well there is only one of these layouts but I cannot get the photos of the layouts to show the true colours - it is a really lovely blue colour.

This is such a beautiful photo of Eleanor in Italy last month where she went for the international Frisbee championships. She went with the Oxford University team but they did not win very many matches - but she had a fab time and it was her first holiday away by herself. She did all the planning and booking by herself and was very nervous about it all - but it all worked out very well. Her flight back to Britain was delayed in Italy which meant she missed her train back to Liverpool- but luckily for us managed to get a train back to Shrewsbury so we had her a home for a day which was lovely and unexpected.

I used my Cricut on this layout. I did the swirl and the title with it.

Le Poseur layout

I love this photograph of Liam - but I am not sure that the layout 
has done it justice. 
I love the cricle of buttons around it but not sure about the 
2 semi cirlces on it for the title etc.
I don't like the buttons at the top and bottom of the page but had to use them to fill in the gaps - as the border was from a page of K & co stickers but they were not all the same size! perhaps I should have just left those bits blank.

The photo was taken in Bournemouth when he was bout 4 - how I wish I had dated all the back of my old photos - as I am having to guess the ages of the children when using them!

Powis Castle layouts

These photos have been sitting on my desk for ages waiting patiently to be scrapped. Liam and I had a great day out at Powis castle, I am not sure when - I think he was about 11 or 12 at the time. It was just before he started saying he did not want to come out to all these places with me anymore - so it is nice time to remembera time when he was keen & interested. I had to hide my journalling underneath one photo as there was not enough room.

Powis Castle was just gorgeous, inside was very well preserved with lots of interesting things to look at. The gardens were beautifully maintained but it was spring when we visited and not everything had bloomed in the garden yet.

I wanted to use some scallopped edges but have not been able to find any decent ones on my cricut yet so used it to cut about 30 1" circles out and laid them sise by side to look a bit like a scallop edge.

I like these DLO and am pleased with the choice of papers - the patterened ones were easy to choose - October Afternoon but I struggled with the bottom cardstock and had tried loads of different shades - when I eventually tried these ones from DCWV Far East Papers! There are no oriental marking s on the paper and the colour was just right. The title is from K & Co stickers.

A quick & easy layout

Whilst waiting for the 2nd prompt from Shimelle I started this layout and finished it an hour later!
Crickey each layout usually takes me days, but in this case the 2 photos were large 5x7's so filled the page and the paper was already layered so literally just stuck the photos on top! so a bit of a cheat really - however I do actually like it.

This is layout 44 in my target towards 52 in the whole of 2008 and I used March 2008 Scrapagogo kit. The papers & tag are from K & Company Wild Saffron range and the alpha stickers are Scienic Route (so much for using the Cricut for all my titles!)

Had a go at some doodling practice this morning - well you could tell it was my first attempt - a lot more practice is needed here before I start on my layouts.
