It is a biography of Neruda's life, which apparently was complicated by politics and emotions, at a time when his home country Chile was also going through political & emotional turmoil. I have also ordered a book of his poems, so hopefully after reading his biography, I may be able to understand some of his poetry. I can't wait to tuck into this new book.Saturday, 4 July 2009
4th July 2009 - Pablo Neruda
A few weeks ago Jane Dean (who I admire very much) posted this poem on her blog and I thought it was just beautiful. I have never really paid much attention to poetry before and I did not know anything about the poet Pablo Neruda - except what I had gleamed from the film il Postino. So decided that I should broaden my horizons and this book arrived yesterday :-
