18th March - urban sheep?
Despite my many rural photos - I am in fact a town dweller - so today I thought I would show an urban scene ~ with a rural twist!
These 5 sheep form a sculpture which sits outside our Tesco store. It is on the site of the old cattle market where farmers used to bring their cows, pigs and sheep to sell every Tuesday, until only recently - even the cattle market has moved to 'an out of town site' now! hence this subject matter. The sculpture has not been without controversy - some people don't like it and others were outraged at the cost £50,000. I quite like it, as I think art - in what ever form - brings an interest to an urban landscape littered with traffic lights and road signs and will give visitors a marker point if they get lost.

I would love to have these sheep outside my Tesco's, or anywhere else nearby for that matter.
